Brigg and Brooks finally decided to join us this week! On Monday I had an ultrasound and everyone in the office couldn't believe I was still pregnant when I walked in. The girl that works at the front desk turned around and yelled "She's still pregnant!!" when I walked in. Tuesday I went to my last Dr appointment and scheduled to be induced the next day. I was supposed to meet the doctor at 6:30 in the morning at the hospital. Wednesday rolled around and I woke up extra early to get ready only to get a phone call about 5:45 telling me that they had lots of women go into labor the night before so I was being put on hold for now. That left me the whole day to sit around and wait, that was KILLER! Finally, around 2:30 I got a call saying that they had a bed for me so we rushed to the hospital to get things started. I was Strep B positive this time around so I had to deal with getting the antibiotics and they wouldn't break my water until I had had 2 doses of the antibiotic so I got to sit around for around 6 hours just waiting to get started.
(Brigg is on the right in this picture). After I delivered I was having some issues starting with hemorrhaging but they got that under control pretty quick. But I started feeling really sick and threw up for the rest of the night. Nothing stayed in my system and no anti-nausea meds works. They checked my blood levels to find out that my liver enzymes were way off and that I had either pre-eclampsia or HELLP. The doctors put me on magnesium to try to lower my blood pressure and balance everything else and I have to say I don't remember much of the day the boys were born because I was so out of it. I finally started feeling better by that afternoon and the kids came by to see me.
Poor Casen I think was feeling bad for Mom because he ended up sick too.
I felt even worse that I wasn't home to take care of him. The next day I was feeling much better but I still ended up staying in the hospital a little extra.
The boys and I came home on Saturday
and I am happy to report everyone is doing great. We are adjusting to life with 4 kids and couldn't be happier!
