Happy Birthday Princess Rilyn

I can not believe this day has come. My little girl is 2! I think that this year has gone way too fast. I remember coming home from the hospital with this teeny tiny baby girl and now she is a beautiful little girl (although she is still pretty teeny tiny). I have to be the luckiest mom in the world. Rilyn is so special. She is very smart. She can say anything you ask her too and talks non stop at home. She can even put together a sentence. Some of her funny words are "peace out" insead of bye, "copporn" for popcorn, "cake ups" for cup cakes, "moobe it" instead of asking to watch Madagascar 2, "aaa ssss eeeww" for ASU and "go debils" for go devils, and of course my favorite, "lub ew". Her doctor says shes way advanced in the speaking area. She is very coordinated as well. She loves to kick and throw balls. She loves to run and jump. She really loves to dance and dances all day no matter where she is. She loves airplanes and has been on several of them. I think she has been more places in her short little life than her dad has in his whole life. She is so grown up. I swear there are some days she thinks shes about 16. She loves to drive her cars. She loves to read books. She LOVES Ariel!! She also loves Cinderella (or Rella as she calls her) and Sleeping Beauty (she calls her Beauty). She loves babies, holding them, feeding them bottles, playing with them. She is going to be a great big sister some day (not anytime soon though). She is my best friend and I am so blessed to have her as my daughter. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!
Here are some fun pictures from her birthday party. She had an Ariel party and got so many fun presents. What a lucky girl!
Rilyn's pretty Ariel cake (I kinda messed up her lips though)

Rilyn's Big Weekend

We had a pretty low key week this last week. Rilyn started swim lessons with Aunt Shelley. She is not too sure about lessons but I think shes just dramatic. Shelley thinks shes a natural swimmer. She has great kicks and tries to do her big arms. Maybe she can be on the swim team when she gets older. My cousin Vanessa graduated from ASU this week. She is going on to graduate school on the East Coast so we got her a big package of Mac and Cheese. I figured that would feed her for a week or so! Just kidding! On Friday we took Rilyn swimming at Cody's parents house. I figured the more I have her in the water the better. She took her princess swimming toys (we have princess dive sticks and and ariel bath toy that we decided could go in the pool too) and she had a blast! She didn't want to get out! She did awesome. She was doing the stuff that she does in swimming lessons with out the screaming that goes on with swimming lessons. I was so proud. I told her if she did the screaming thing at the next lesson she would be in trouble for being a drama queen since now I know shes faking! (She knows I'm kidding she would never be in trouble for that) She has been asking me to go swimming every day since Friday. She is so funny! On Saturday morning she woke up and helped her dad mow the lawn and played with her new big girl bike that her cousins Sera and Alexa passed down. She loves it. We went to Target and got a pink basket for the front of the bike and a pink horn. She just sits on it and honks the horn. So funny! She wants to hold your hand the whole time shes on the bike though because she is afraid of being up there alone. On Sunday night we went over to Frank and Debbies to say hi and Rilyn got to play with Tatum. They are too funny together. They are either best friends and playing together or they are worst enemies and screaming at eachother. I guess now I know what it will be like when she has siblings or at least sisters. And in more crazy news...Rilyn will be 2 on Sunday!! Thats less than a week away!! I can't believe that my baby can be that old already!! Where does the time go?

Zoo Run and Mother's Day!

On Saturday we went to the zoo so I could do my zoo run. It was a lot of fun and I think I did pretty good. I did the 5k and my time was about 45 minutes (which isn't that great but it was my first run so I'm happy with it). After the run there was a little event for the runners and their families where there was a band and food and face painting for the kids. Rilyn got a giraffe painted on her face because its her favorite animal. Cody's friend Justin was also in the run so afterwards we walked around the zoo with his family. Rilyn had so much fun running around with Swayzie and Hudson and Harbor. Rilyn decided that she had to wear my shirt that I got during the run because Swayzie was wearing her daddy's. Shes too funny. She wants to be just like the big kids. She also decided that she needed a walking stick because Hudson found himself a walking stick. Talk about Monkey See Monkey Do! We tried to get her to play in the water at one of the splash pads with Harbor but Rilyn wasn't too into the water (she's a bit of a chicken) so instead of playing in the water they played with a ball while the big kids got wet.
For Mother's Day we went to brunch at my Aunt Kerry's house with my family. It was very nice. My mom gave me a present that she and Rilyn had made for me a few weeks ago. Its a cute plate with Rilyn's hand print in the middle of it. So sweet! Then after church we headed over to the Breinholts. After dinner almost everyone showed up over there and Rilyn had a blast playing with a bunch of her cousins.
I feel so lucky and blessed to have an AMAZING mom. She taught me so much and helped me become the mom I am today. She's such a great grandma and Rilyn loves her tons. She is such a great source of support and does so much for my family. I am so happy to have a GREAT mother-in-law. She does so much for our family, is a great grandma, and raised such a great guy for me to marry. I am so luck to have and had such wonderful grandmas. My Nana is such an amazing lady. She has taught me so much and continues to teach me still to this day. My Grandma was a wonderful woman and I miss her very much. She was always there for me and taught me a great deal about love. I am so blessed to be a mom. I have a wonderful little girl and everyday I feel so lucky to have her. She makes my life complete. She is my best friend and I think shes perfect!

Busy Busy Busy

Well we're a little late posting this week because we just got home from Colorado. Rilyn and I went on a quick trip with my mom because she had to go for work. It was fun. It is so pretty there. I was so suprised to see the snow on the mountains still. I know it just snowed a few weeks ago there but still its May so I was suprised to see it. We were able to go to Tucson last weekend for Brittany's (Gregs soon to be Wife) shower. It was so fun! She is such a cute girl. We are so excited to have her in the family. We also went to go see the Hanna Montana movie (Ri calls her HanTanna) with Aunt Krista, Sera, Alexa, and Boston. It was a cute movie. My favorite part was Rilyn standing up on her chair dancing during one of the songs. It was so funny!! Its a good thing the movie theater was pretty much empty.

I'm starting to get nervious about the 5k I'm in on Saturday. I know its only 3 miles but thats a really long way for me! I'm a wimp. We found out that Cody's friend Justin is running in it too so after the run we're going to do the zoo with our kids. It will be fun. I just hope I don't embarass my husband by looking like a dork in front of his friend. I think I got some good training done in the airport in Colorado. For the first time ever my mom and I almost missed our plane. We cut it way too close and ended up running through the airport (my mom while holding rilyn, rilyn suitcase, and her briefcase and me while pushing a stroller and carrying the carseat) It had to of been funny to watch because we were laughing throught the whole thing. If I can do that I better be able to run 3 miles. I'll just have to pretend I'm trying to catch a plane.

Rilyn is such a funny kid! The other night she decided that we all needed makeovers so she got me, my mom, my dad, and tex (my parents dog) as well as herself. It was pretty funny!
She must think shes growing up because while we were in Colorado she pulled a rasor out of my moms bag and sat on the bathroom counter "shaving" (the cover was still on). What a nut. She has also picked out her car that she wants to drive. Luckily she has good taste. She picked my grandpas 1971 mustang convertable. On Sunday she asked my mom if she could borrow the car so Cody and I took her for a ride over to her Grandma and Grandpa Breinholts to say hi. She is growing up TOO FAST!! I can't belive she'll be 2 in less than 3 weeks. What happened to my baby?!?
