Bored

Well this week was a very boring one. Rilyn's cold turned into a lovely sounding cough (it was actually pretty funny sounding because she would have a coughing fit and then squeak when she was trying to get a breath after). Thanks to her wonderful breathing issues I decided to stay in the house where the cold wouldn't effect her too much. We played games (Rilyn fishes with her fingers instead of the fishing pole), we made donuts, we danced to music videos on the computer, and we exercised. She is starting to sound a lot better and sleep better too so I'm thinking she's starting to feel better. On the downside I'm starting to worry I might have picked it up. I'm hoping mine will go away fast though. I hate being sick! This week we had sun (and we couldn't go outside!! :( ). The snow was starting to melt and I was starting to think that spring may be on the way. Then I woke of Friday morning to a TON of snow! It took me forever to dig out so I could go to the dr. (Dr appointment went good - everything looks good and I've gained 8 pounds) I was ready to totally kill Cody for not shoveling before school (he slept in so he didn't have time). I swear there were parts of the driveway that were under at least 3 feet of snow and the sidewalk and front walk were all under at least a foot. It was NUTS! Yeah I called that my workout for the day and decided to skip the workout dvd. Speaking of my dvd, Ri and I try to work out at least 3 - 4 times a week and it is so funny to watch Rilyn do it. She mainly tries to do the stretches. This is her stretching out her neck (the wrong way).
What a nut!

Nesting, Nemo, and Nursing the Sick

This week was crazy! Since Monday was President's Day and that means great day for shopping a few of us hopped in the cars and drove to the outlet mall. It was so much fun and I got some AMAZING deals!! I got tons of clothes for "baby brother" and some size 4 stuff for Rilyn (I can't believe that I'm shopping in the big kids section for her now!) Rilyn's favorite thing about shopping was the dog at old navy.I wish I would have taken a picture of all of my spoils. Cody was in shock when I walked in the house. I also got the Big Sister shirt that matches the Little Brother onesie that Ri picked out. I can't wait to take their pictures in them! Ashlee and Cassidy tried to bring back the Elmer Fudd look. I think they nailed it! Monday night we had a fun fondu party with some of our friends. It was so fun to get together! I love excuses to get together with other grown ups for something other than playdates. The rest of the week was pretty low key because we all ended up with colds. Rilyn and Cody got it the worst so luckily I was able to still take care of things around here. On Saturday, Rilyn and I went to go see Finding Nemo on Ice because Ri got a free ticket through the library. We had awesome seats (like 5 rows back from the ice) and Rilyn totally loved it! I'm not really sure if I consider all of my redecorating/reorganizing "nesting" but I've been working on lots of things. This last week I was able to move Rilyn's room around to get ready for her to share the room. She actually pretty excited for her brother to share her room with her. I also changed her toys around again because the shelf I had them on was too tall and making me nervous (Rilyn likes to get things herself and I didn't want the shelf to fall on her). Rilyn and I are also working on growing some flowers (since the snow killed all of mine outside) and they just started sprouting through. So exciting! I'm just happy I haven't killed them yet. We also got a new tv stand (thank you tax return) because ours was just an old bookshelf and didn't look like it could hold the tv much longer. Hopefully this new one lasts a long time and helps keep the kids out of my dvds/cds. I'm actually really happy about it because its the first one we've ever owned (our last house was too small and when we moved here we were on a budget). Hopefully Cody and Ri start feeling better soon and I don't get any more sick.

Halfway There!

I'm so excited to say that I'm halfway through my pregnancy! Its gone by really fast which has been way nice. I hope that the 2nd half goes just as fast. Rilyn hopes so too. Everyday she asks when she can see her baby brother. Its so sweet. Shes going to be the best big sister!! I've been trying to avoid pictures of my bump but here it is. I think that because my little guy is sitting so low its helping me not pop out so far (I remember being much bigger with Ri). Rilyn is an awesome cheerleader for me as well. We work out as much as we can (the snow has me parinoid that I'll gain a hundred pounds because we can't go outside) and she helps me work out and tells me that I'm doing a good job and (my favorite) to work it! Its so fun to have her around. This week we got hit with a lot of snow (and its still coming). We weren't lucky enough to have both of the big storms miss us I guess. I'm kind of bummed about it because we could see patches of our grass and it was making me hope that maybe we would have spring soon but no such luck. Oh well. Before the snow started this week Rilyn and I did some fun stuff. We went to story time at the library and made it to the dollar theater to see Planet 51 (very funny, lots of grown up jokes). Rilyn loves story time. Here she is singing along and dancing. We totally lucked out at the movies. Our theater was totally empty except for us so we didn't have to worry about when Rilyn got bored and needed to walk around or talk louder than you should in a movie. This next Monday night we're going to get together to have a Valentine's dinner. We were going to do it Sunday but the boys have a big test on Monday. Hopefully during the day on Monday the girls are going to make it to the outlets for the President's Day Sales (I'm excited to hit up some of the baby stores to see what kind of cute winter clothes I can find for cheap for my little man).

Another week in the life

Well we've survived another week in cold Erie, PA. This week we went to a fun lunch with some of the other moms and kids in our ward. Rilyn had fun running around the play area once she got over being afraid of it. Rilyn and I have been having fun looking around for things for "baby brother". Rilyn picked out the outfit that hes going to come home from the hospital in. How cute is that?!? On Friday night Cody took us out to dinner at Applebees to make up for not being home much this week thanks to school. Rilyn loved the cheese sticks and we got a kick out of watching her eat them. She can get it to stretch pretty far. On Saturday Ri and I went to Home Depot for the kids activity. She made a cute holder for toy cars. She says its for her brother. How sweet is she! I was also able to go see When in Rome on Saturday with some girlfriends. It was really cute and I'm glad I was able to get away for some "me" time. While I was at the movie the boys played video games at our house and Rilyn got to play with some friends. She got a little bit of an "owie" when she was running around like a crazy person and now her lip looks pretty beat up. Now we're off to a little super bowl get together. I'm just going for the commercials so hopefully theres some good ones this year! :)
