Yes! A low key week!

Well, luckily, we had a very quiet week. I fixed Rilyn's Halloween costume (yes I know its a month away but sometimes I have to just do it before I forget and it never gets done).

Next I need to make Casen's costume (hes going to be Batman!). The most exciting thing we did this week was take Rilyn's staples out. Cody was able to do it. I think it made him feel like a Doctor for the night. She stayed really still while he did it and her owie is looking much much better.
Next week Casen hits his 3 month mark. How is that even possible?!? I swear I just brought him home from the hospital! I just noticed that I haven't had any pictures of him up for the last couple of weeks so next week will have a lot of 3 month pictures!

The Big Reveal and Rilyn's Trauma

This week was pretty eventful. On Thursday night Rilyn and her daddy were playing when Rilyn fell and hit her head. If you know Rilyn you know this happens at least 10 times a day so I didn’t think much of it. I picked her up and started rubbing her head looking for the goose-egg that usually comes. That’s when Cody noticed there was blood. I moved my had and noticed my hand was now red. Oh no, not good! After cleaning her up a bit we noticed that the cut probably needed some help healing on its own.
Thank goodness we have friends with experience we can call and ask for their opinion/help. I didn’t want to take her to the er just to have them tell me she’ll be fine. Smitty came up and said he thought it would probaly need a staple and just for good measure we went on a little trip to see a guy in our ward who is a dr for his opinion too. He agreed with Smitty and thought a staple would do the trick. So we headed toward the hospital and luckily got right in to get things taken care of. Rilyn was such a trooper. She didn’t even flinch when they put the staples-2 of them- in (without numbing her). I was expecting at least a tear. Nope. She said “ouch” once and that was that, she didn’t even try to get up or move. I was hoping we could go a lot longer than 3 years before she had her first major owie but I think she’s decided to head down her Uncle Cody’s path (100 stitches by the age of 10).
So now Rilyn’s at 2 staples (we had to call Uncle Cody and let him know that Rilyn’s track record was going to be cooler than his because he’s never had staples). Hopefully we don’t add to that number anytime soon. I have a feeling that it’s a good thing that Daddy is going to be a Dr because with my crazy daughter and a boy I’m going to have my hands full!
Oh and the BIG NEWS… We’re moving to Scranton, PA for Cody to do his 3rd and 4th year rotations. Theres a bigger hospital there than in Erie so he’s hoping for a chance to see more. I’m a little nervous to move AGAIN (for the 3rd time in 3 years AAAHHH) but I’m excited to see more of PA. This will put us only 2 hours from New York City and 2 hours from Philadelphia so hopefully we’ll get to go on some fun trips. We’ll that’s all the news for now. Heres hoping that next week is not nearly as exciting!

Preschool and Birthday

This week Rilyn started preschool this week. She did AWESOME! She walked in and said “Bye Mom” without even looking back. I made her come back and give me a kiss before I left but she did awesome! I’m so proud of her! I really missed her while she was gone though. My house was way too quiet. Casen had a great week to. He slept through the night! My perfect baby! I’m so lucky to have 2 wonderful kids! Friday was my 25th birthday! Wow. I can’t believe I’m 25 already. Time has gone so fast. I’m starting to really feel like a grown up (I know that sounds dumb since obviously I’ve been a grown up for a long time but now I live on the otherside of the country from my family and have 2 kids and have been married for going on 6 years and now I’m in my mid twenties so it seems very grown up). I’m very happy about my life and the amazing journey its been and can’t wait for whats in store for the coming years. Speaking of lifes adventures we have another one heading our way. I’ll give you some hints:

Home to one of the 10 Fastest Marathons in the US and also an offical qualifier to the Boston Marathon.

Is named in the Harry Chapin song 30,000 Pounds of Bananas

Is the location of Dunder Mifflin (The Office)

I’ll give you all of the details next week.
