Well we've finally made it to Erie, PA. It was so hard to say goodbye to everyone back in AZ. I already really miss my family and friends. I'm lucky that my parents were able to come to Erie with us for the first couple of days. They left on Sunday and we're all really missing them already. Before we left we went to the zoo one last time and fed the Giraffes!
It was so cool.
Rilyn and I went with my mom and Aunt Kelly and we all thought it was pretty cool. I finally have some pictures from before we left.
This is Cody pulling out of our driveway on his way to Erie last Sunday. It took him until Tuesday to make it to Erie so I'm really glad that Ri and I flew. My dad flew on our plane with us (my mom flew on a different airline because she had a free ticket) and
Grandpa and Rilyn enjoyed watching Ariel. I though it was pretty funny how into the movie they both were. Could you imagine my 2 year old in a car for 2 1/2 days?!? We'd all go NUTS! Rilyn helped me pack our bags for the move.
She also enjoyed getting into the dog carrier. She thought she was pretty funny.
This was one of our UPacks (its what we used instead of a UHaul). Can you tell we have a lot of stuff? My dad and Cody worked really hard in the heat to get the stuff in those cubes. Luckily by the time my parents and I got to Erie the cubes had been unpacked thanks to some awesome guys from our new ward. I don't have a ton of pictures of my house yet because I'm still in the unpacking stage and right now its pretty scary inside.
My dad and Cody worked really hard to get everything built and get the house taken care of so it would be easier for me to just put things where I want them while Codys at school.
Our house is really cute. It has a basement (unfinished) and an attic. Our attic has a little room in it that I'm turning into Rilyn's playroom. We have a cute little living room, a dining room, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen. Its huge compared to our little guest house we've been in. I'll post pictures of the inside once I get it all set the way I want it. We are so thankful to all of our families. To Cody's dad for driving with him up to Erie and to my parents for flying up with us and helping us to get set. Cody starts school tomorrow so stay tuned for school updates. On Saturday we went to a family orientation at LECOM.
Rilyn and I went on a tour of the school and saw Codys new second home (although from what I hear he may be spending more time there than at our house).
We all went to a place called Presque Island (which is actually a peninsula that goes into Lake Erie) and checked out the parks and beaches out there.
It was really pretty and its so cool to see the beaches.
We actually have waves and everything. We went to our new ward today. Oh My GOSH! There are so many young people! Its so different from our last ward. There are tons of kids too (and I mean kids not teenagers). Rilyn had fun in nursery. I think she'll enjoy it more as she gets used to Erie. Everyone was really nice and we've already been invited to dinner at a few people houses and I was invited to a bachelorette party. Sounds like a fun way to get to know the girls around here. Another cool thing about our ward is that most of the people in it are med students of some sorts. So far I think things are going to be nice here in Erie. Very different from AZ but good. For all of you Twilight fans I think I now know how Bella felt when she moved to Forks and everything was green and wet and squishy. Thats pretty much how things are here. Very green (even our sidewalk and street are growing moss). Lots of rain. Way cooler weather (our highs are in the 70's).
